Frequently Asked Questions
When do new classes begin? Can I join at anytime?
All classes are ongoing all year and new choreography starts as soon as a previous choreography has been completed. As long as you join classes at your level you should be able to catch up. Please check class schedules and contact me to be sure you will be comfortable with the class.
I have danced before, what level should I start?
I always suggest that you start at a lower level to get back up to speed.
Are private class available?
Yes, please contact me to schedule an appointment.
What are the class fees and what is your make-up policy?
Classes are $20 per drop in classes. Classes are discounted to $15 each class if the month is prepaid. Classes are paid per/class or monthly at the beginning of the month to receive the discount. Missed classes cannot be rolled over to another month or used in another class from your group. Students can make up only 1 class in a group other than their usual class.
When do we pay for class and how can I pay for class?
Class fees are due at the beginning of the month and at the beginning of the class. Flamenco Puro accepts cash and checks.
Do we play castanets in the class?
Only classes that learn the Sevillanas will be playing the castanets. Once they have learned the 4 – coplas then we will incorporate the castanets. Private classes can be arranged for students who wish to learn castanets outside of the Sevillanas class.
Do I need to purchase the flamenco shoes and skirt before starting classes?
Unless you are absolutely sure you want to commit to flamenco classes, I recommend that you take a few classes before you purchase the shoes. In the meantime you can use closed shoes with a medium sized heel. For your convenience, Flamenco Puro offers reasonably priced shoes, t-shirts, and beautiful, made to order skirts.
How old do I have to be to take classes?
There is no age limit to take classes. Everyone is welcome. Students start at age 10 and older.
Can I give lessons as a gift?
Yes, you can contact me for class information and I will be more than happy to make a gift certificate you can present as a gift.
Who teaches the classes?
All classes are taught by Clarita Filgueiras.
